ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Hendrika
After careful consideration and many late-night discussions, the Jooste-family decided in 2006 to emigrate from South Africa. We packed our bags and said our goodbyes, with the bright lights of Paris luring us on a new and exciting adventure. We were immigrants, not ex-pats, who had financial backing from a corporate company, nor did we have any immigration coaching or guidance.
For various unforeseen reasons, our gruelling immigration journey started from South Africa to France, Britain and Australia. How our journey turned out is not something I would recommend to any migrant. Thankfully we endured and survived, settling in Australia and successfully integrating into our new home country. Today I am a Master Certified Life Coach, specialising in Immigration Settlement and Integration Coaching to help fellow migrants to have a smoother and more successful immigration journey.
My Experience
Three international relocations and the past 17 years of migrant life have helped me to understand the challenges of emigrating to an entirely new culture with different languages, time zones and, most of all being far away from friends and family.
I fully understand how hard it is to re-invent yourself, move with children and pets, and deal with ambiguous grief and loss, imposter syndrome, and underemployment. I know your daily struggles with language, misunderstandings, and your continuous search for happiness and belonging. That is why Immigration Settlement and Integration Coaching is my passion.
My friend and I, Robyn Vogels, who is a seasoned Relocation Consultant, wrote two books:

Your D.I.Y. Move Guide to Australia (Amazon bestseller).
My qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Master Certified Life Coach
- Bachelor's and Honours Degree in Social Science
- Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
- Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL)

Why the Migrant Whisperer?
Dear friends started to call me "The Migrant Whisperer", and I loved the compliment so much that I changed it to my business slogan.
I used the dandelion in the logo because they represent strength and survival :
- They are the most successful plants that exist.
- They are masters of survival (if you mow them, they'll grow shorter stalks to spite you).
- They have the most extended flowering season of any plant, and every part of the dandelion is used for food, medicine and dye colouring.
- They do not need to be pollinated to form seeds.
- A gust of wind can transport their seeds.
